Restorative Yoga with Somatics - deep practices to release stress and anxiety

Location: St Paul Yoga Center, 1162 Selby Ave,  Saint Paul, MN.

According to Ayurvedic medicine, many ailments of body and mind start with unresolved physical, mental or emotional tension. As the weather changes, we often respond with a heightened sense of anxiety and a general lack of peace inside. In this workshop, we use yogic methods to alleviate anxiety and tension in body and mind, in a deep and lasting way.

Often what is perceived as 'tight muscles' that need to be 'stretched' is simply tension that has taken root and that we have lost touch with. In somatics, we guide our awareness and Breath into ese areas of forgotten tension and achieve deep muscle release and freedom. 

We use pranayama (guided breath) and mantras to focus our awareness on healing our bodies. You will be guided through somatics exercises followed by classic restorative poses. We will end with a guided savasana practice called, Yoga Nidra during which you will experience an even deeper level of relaxation.

This workshop will put you in touch with your own inherent capacity for self-healing by accessing the deep peace that resides at the core of your Being. You will learn simple techniques for lowering anxiety and stress while receiving the immediate benefits of the practice.  

Please don't drink caffeine for at least 3 hours prior to class. If you can then make sure you don't have anything demanding on your schedule after class. 


Yoga Nidra Workshop

Yoga Nidra is also known as "yogic sleep" and is a guided meditation into a deep state of relaxation in which you will hover in the space between sleeping and waking; your body will be asleep while your mind remains awake. The class will also include restorative yoga blended with somatics for ultimate release of tension in the body before entering the Nidra practice. Each of these practices are designed to lower cortisol levels in the body and clear the body and mind of the effects of prolonged stress. 

Please wear comfortable, stretchy clothing and refrain from taking caffeine or chocoloate at least 3 hours prior to practice.

Lodging is booked separately, and ranges from $30-$80 a night, depending upon occupancy and room type.

You will solidly reconnect to your inspired purpose as you realign with your beautiful Spirit through deep meditation practice and healing therapeutic yoga.

We will practice a variety of NVC exercises interspersed with yoga and meditation styles all designed to bring you back to your Self. The rest of the time you will be happily occupied resting or exploring the surroundings of the beautiful and magical Christine Center. The food is prepared daily and is just exquisite and fresh from the earth.

Cancellation Policy:

Pre-registration and payment reserves your space, and is required for all workshops and events. There are no refunds, but if you cancel more than one week prior to the beginning of a workshop, or event, your payment is transferred to a credit you can use for any Breath of Life product or service. Such credits have no expiration date. If you cancel less than 24-hours prior, you forfeit your payment. Please register early as space is limited.
